Frequently asked questions
A few answers before you get started.
Find out what to send us, how we choose materials and what happens next.
Do I need a finished 3D model?
No. A sketch, photos, measurements or the original part can help us get started. Tell us what you want to make. We’ll explain any design work needed and quote for it.
Which files can I send?
You can send STL, 3MF, STEP/STP or OBJ files, PDF drawings, and JPG or PNG photos. Check the upload limits beside the file picker. If you have another type of file, tell us in your message.
Can you help choose a material?
Yes. Tell us where the part will be used and whether it needs to handle heat, sunlight, water, weight or bending. We’ll help you choose a plastic and confirm what’s available.
How much will my part cost?
Send us the details and we’ll give you a quote. Size, shape, plastic, print time and quantity all matter, along with any design work. We’ll explain what’s included before starting.
How long will it take?
Tell us when you need it. Timing depends on the part, materials, our workload and any samples or changes needed. We’ll discuss a schedule for your job before you go ahead.
Can you make a replacement from a broken part?
Sometimes. Send photos, measurements and a little about what it does. We’ll look at what can be copied or rebuilt and whether a test print would help.
Can I enquire about hundreds or thousands of parts?
Absolutely. Tell us how many you need, when you need them and whether you expect to order again. We’ll look at the design, materials, samples and delivery plan, then confirm what we can take on in a quote.
Is multicolour printing available?
Yes. We print with up to four colours on our four-toolhead system. Send your model, colours and how many you need. We’ll check the file and available colours, then discuss any sample needed before quoting.
Can I collect locally, or have parts shipped?
We’re based in the Barrie area and take enquiries from across Canada. Ask about pickup or shipping when we quote. Please arrange a time and location with us before visiting or sending a part.
Are printed parts food-safe, structural or certified?
We don’t make a general promise about food safety, strength or certification. Tell us if your part is used for food, holds weight or has a safety role. Those jobs need the right checks, beyond choosing a plastic.
Will my design appear in the public portfolio?
We’ll need separate permission before sharing a customer’s photos, name or design. Sending a quote request or placing an order doesn’t give that permission. Please only send private details we need for your job.
What happens after I send a quote request?
Your enquiry and attached files are sent to Fast 3D Prints. We’ll review what you need and get in touch to discuss the details, price and timing. Sending a request does not place an order.
Tell us what the part needs to do.
Send your model, sketch, measurements or a clear photo. We can work out the next step together.
